Access to health care is one of the major challenges for low-income people in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Facilities are limited and costs are high.

The CGAT (Centre des Risques et d'Accompagnement Techniques des Mutuelles de Santé) aims to improve access to health care by supporting the creation and development of affordable, high-quality mutual health insurance.

They have also created 20 mutuals in four provinces of Congo (Kinshasa, Bas-Congo, Nord-Kivu and Équateur).

In collaboration with Christian Mutualities and World Solidarity, BRS supports CGAT:

- Implementation of a KPI dashboard and evaluation of financial results.

- Improve health insurance and balance costs and incomes.

- Management training and organization

- Creating a database

During the 2014-2016 period, the various partners also supported CGAT. During this period, CGAT became a solid organisation with around 40,000 beneficiaries using the health insurance offered by their mutual insurance companies.
