Buusaa Gonofaa is a microfinancing institution that was set up in 1999 by Ethiopian NGO Hundee to manage its credit programmes in the Oromia region. 

Buusaa Gonofaa provides efficient and sustainable financial services to the poorer population in rural areas and in the rural-urban fringe.  Buusaa Gonofaa provides loans to and collects savings from mainly women, smallholder farmers and young people.  Many of the credits are for agriculture and the support of small-scale commercial activities.

With its 36 offices and rural service facilities, Buusaa Gonofaa reaches approximately 134,000 customers.

After an introductory mission in May 2022, BRS decided to go ahead and work together with the institution, providing coaching aimed at optimising their reporting, agricultural finance and change management.
